About This Role
This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Senior Welding Engineering Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day welding engineering function at our Rosyth, Fife facility in Scotland.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for proposing, providing, managing, and delivering high-quality welding engineering solutions and support to our precision heavy engineering marine project.
Key responsibilities include assessing and understanding technical problems, generating innovative solutions through experimental trials and process development, planning and launching welding engineering projects, and ensuring time, cost, quality, and safety targets are met.
Requirements
* Familiarity with main welding processes used within heavy engineering environments
* Working knowledge of international defence codes and specifications required within a heavy marine engineering environment
* Demonstrable experience of managing welding engineering functions within a heavy engineering environment
* Robotic and mechanised welding process familiarity beneficial
In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a degree in Welding Engineering or a relevant discipline, hold a minimum IIW/EWF International Welding Technologist (EWT) certification, and be registered as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with the UK Engineering Council. SC security clearance is also required.
Estimated Salary
£55,000 - £70,000 per annum depending on experience
