Senior Structural Engineer
The successful candidate will have a number of years post-graduate experience in structural design, which includes UK-based work experience in the design of structures/structural steel works and connections in accordance with Eurocode 3. Candidates must be able to produce sketches and drawings using AutoCAD and mentor Junior Engineers (remotely) as part of their role. This position is working from home with occasional visits to the Southeast head office.

Overview
Due to continued growth and future development plans, our client wishes to appoint an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to take a lead role in providing holistic technical support to Pre-Construction and Operations teams, as well as all other Group departments as required. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenge and opportunity of working within a dynamic team on a wide range of infrastructure, civil, roads, rail, energy, nuclear and telecom projects. Further responsibilities include:
The Role
* Analysis of project information and selection of the most suitable and economical solution.
* Preparation of foundation options, structural design calculations and design reports.
* Preparation of sketches for CAD Technicians, and check and approve drawings.
* Communication with clients, consultants and contractors.
* Attending meetings and site visits as required.
* To ensure that all design documentation is correct, complete and stored in appropriate electronic folders, and has been approved or accepted by the client, including structural design calculations and drawings.
* To develop and maintain the project design electronic folders, including records and hand back information.
* To ensure projects are completed to client specifications and company standards.
* Ensure that the needs of the customer in improving safety, quality, productivity and controlling cost are met.
* Review RAMS in conjunction with the Management Team to ensure that risks are controlled as far as is practicably possible, and to implement measures for the mitigation of these risks in accordance with company procedures.
The Person
* A relevant engineering degree is preferred, coupled with demonstrable UK working experience at a senior level in a similar role, with a broad knowledge of a wide variety of relevant project applications across all sectors.
* An enthusiastic and motivated person striving for structural excellence in the sector.
* Extensive experience in steel structural design including design of steel connections.
* Highly knowledgeable of Eurocode 3.
* Experience in guiding and mentoring graduate engineers.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
