Supply Desk are seeking SEND teaching assistants for a Special Needs School in Portsmouth
Starting from September 2025 on a long-term contract
Pay - £75-£85* dependant on experience
Hours – 8:30 to 3:30

Supply Desk are proud to represent a Special Education School that works with children from the ages of 7 –16 in different sites around the Portsmouth area. This school is looking for several SEND teaching assistants to support either 1:1 or in small groups.

Job Description?
Desire to work throughout Key stage 2, 3 and 4 (7-16 year olds)
Working with small groups delivering interventions such as Reading, Maths and Literacy
Has experience working with children with SEND (particularly ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs)
Is patient, empathetic and resilient with a strong sense of humour
Communicates clearly and effectively
Can work flexibly and adapt to the needs of individual pupils
Holds a relevant qualification or is keen to undertake training
Who are you?
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, under the guidance of class teachers and the SENDCo
Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external professionals
Encouraging independence, confidence and communication skills in learners
