A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller, specifically with a background in the hotel industry.
You must have your own transport to travel to the property.
In this key position, you take charge of all financial aspects of hotel operations, providing strategic leadership in financial management, implementing cost-control measures and driving profitability ensuring financial stability for the hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
2. Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, providing in-depth financial analysis
3. Monitor income streams and expenditures, implementing cost-control measures to enhance profitability
4. Conduct in-depth reviews of departmental and overhead expenses to identify opportunities for increasing profitability
5. Supervise payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
6. Liaise with external auditors, supporting the audit process and preparing accurate financial records for review
7. Assist in managing outstanding debtors, credit control and payment processing
8. Develop, implement and periodically review standard operating procedures
9. Evaluate existing financial controls, introduce enhancements, and implement new measures to minimise risk and prevent losses
10. Manage site cash flow, oversee float reconciliations, process personal expenses and ensure accurate End of Day financial reporting
11. Manage and report on food & beverage margins, cost trends, and financial discrepancies, including refunds, voids and discounts
12. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering professional growth and performance
What They’re Looking For:
1. A commercially minded professional with at least five years of experience managing finances within the hotel industry
2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
3. Strong financial modelling and forecasting abilities
4. The ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner
5. Capable of driving profitability by identifying revenue opportunities and cost-saving measures
6. Exceptional attention to detail, high organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
7. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influence skills
8. Proficient in Sage and advanced Microsoft Excel, with experience using data analysis tools
9. Familiarity with key hotel performance metrics, such as RevPAR, GOPPAR, and ADR, is desirable.
