Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Head Office, Norwich
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (depending on experience)
About the Role
Our client, a leading company in the groundworks and civil engineering sector, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic Commercial Team based at their Head Office in Norwich. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will bring your commercial expertise and excellent communication skills to manage projects effectively and contribute to the growth of the business.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of designated sites, using your initiative to meet deadlines while cultivating positive relationships to ensure business targets are achieved. Your attention to detail and proven ability to deliver high-quality work will be essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation and compilation of tender packages as required.
* Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their specific requirements are met.
* Collaborate within project teams to achieve business objectives.
* Provide accurate payment applications and ensure full payment is received.
* Identify, manage, and mitigate risks related to Health and Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, and Profitability.
* Work across departments to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
* Verify payments against applications and provide debtors' position reports to the Commercial Director, taking action to reduce outstanding accounts.
* Accurately price, negotiate, and agree on contractual variations with clients.
* Provide support to underperforming sites to help bring them back on track.
* Ensure timely payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
* Complete monthly business performance reports, including Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
Essential Qualifications & Skills

Essential:
* Full UK driving license.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure.
* Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:
* HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction.
* Previous experience in the construction or civil engineering industry.
* Contractor or subcontractor experience.
