We are looking for an organised Quality & Risk Compliance Assistant to join our Quality & Risk team in either our Bath or Bristol office. You will be working closely with the Q&R Team, Firm management, Legal Teams and Business Services Teams and assist them by providing a legal service quality, compliance and risk management service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Review and process Work Acceptance requests – raising any queries with legal teams
2. Manage core data in Lawman and assists with data cleansing when issues are identified
3. Assist with the Team’s auditing, monitoring and reporting activity
4. Assist legal teams with general queries about AML, Work Acceptance process or My Client & My Matters Reports
5. Assist legal teams with obtain AML documentation in line with our centralised process
6. Assist in providing data and information for panel applications, CQS renewals, pitches etc.
7. Run conflict checks, Process Accuity and other searches as required
8. Assist Facilities Team with tracing unidentified post identifying relevant clients/matters/fee earners and recording findings
9. Assisting with the annual insurance renewals.
10. Provide ad hoc advice to Legal and Business Services Teams where required, escalating queries to other members of the team when appropriate
What we’re looking for:
11. Qualified to a GCSE’s level or equivalent
12. Ideally some previous experience providing a risk support service of file opening and seeking identification.
13. Basic understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory regimes including:The SRA Codes of ConductAnti-Money Laundering legislation Bribery and Data Protection legislation
14. Good written and verbal communication skills
15. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail.
16. Good IT skills and experience of working with IT systems and applications including Lawman, Excel, Word.
17. Takes a commercial, professional & client focused approach to risk management.
18. A team player, who works collaboratively with the team and others, taking pride in the Team’s achievements and reputation and building strong working relationships within and beyond the team.
Working hours & location:
This is a hybrid role based in either our Bristol or Bath office with occasional travel to other Thrings’ offices in Swindon, London, Ross-on-Wye, Lydney, and Romsey as required.
It’s a full-time position, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
