SUMMARY To assures the professional and efficient purchasing, inventory, distribution, and charging of medical/nursing supplies and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Implement and maintain effective supply control system. Implement perpetual inventory system of all medical supplies. Regularly review storage and availability of nursing supplies. Monitor all new admissions for equipment and supply needs. Stock resident rooms and medication room on each floor on a regular basis, Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Stock one of each specialty items on the floor for emergency use. Coordinate the purchase process with the Director of Nursing, Administrator, Purchasing Department and Accounting Department. Implement and maintain effective monitoring techniques. Order supplies for Assisted Living. Work with medical supply company to create better tracking system for different payor sources. Monitor monthly expenses and track on a spend down form. Participate in third party billing process. Stock sufficient supplies for each resident’s needs weekly, Monday through Friday. Bill each dressing change, ostomy supplies, urinary catheters, feeding equipment, 02 and set up, and tracheostomy supplies to accounting on a monthly basis. (Cycle 26th of the month to 25th of the month). Audit treatment books, and charts for documentation of procedures and verification of charges. Do all charging of 02, etc. for all nursing areas in complex. Initiate 02 charges in the other building after notified by charge nurse in unit. Must interact courteously, tactfully and politely with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors or associates to preserve productivity and moral. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Several years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPR certified or ability to obtain once hired. WORK SCHEDULE Non Exempt position - 8am-5pm, Monday - Friday. Some additional hours may be required to meet the business demands of the position.
