As a result of strong business growth and industry-leading product development in the biosensor business, we have an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Facilities Lead Engineer to join our site-based Facilities Engineering team.
The HVAC Lead is responsible for driving first-class engineering customer service within Facilities by leading and managing a team of HVAC Engineers.
Working within the Operations management structure, you will be responsible for optimizing process performance and striving for operational excellence. The HVAC Facilities Lead is expected to ensure activities are performed in a manner that supports a Manufacturing Centre of Excellence, Abbott Engineering Standards, and best-in-class working practices.
You will take full responsibility for all aspects of Facilities EHS, ensuring all equipment and activities adhere to site, corporate, and European legislation.
The HVAC Facilities Lead will continually improve the HVAC team’s performance by promoting and managing engineering projects to reduce energy consumption, reduce costs through continuous improvement projects, support adherence to group KPI metrics, manage resources to support the introduction of new systems and equipment, and bring engineering knowledge to ensure continuity of operations.
You will oversee the service and maintenance of a range of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning plant and equipment used to control the manufacturing and support area environments of the facility to meet temperature and humidity specifications. You will be responsible for all electronic work order maintenance reviews as part of the quality process to ensure compliance.
You may also be required to attend the site outside normal working hours as part of an emergency call-out rota.
To be successful, you will have served a recognized apprenticeship within the building services industry and hold relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or National Diploma qualifications. You will bring a breadth of experience with knowledge of HVAC systems, plant, and components, along with good general knowledge of all building services mechanical systems. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, highly organized, and excited about joining a team at the forefront of Diabetes Care innovation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team while being interactive on a wider business scale. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
