Job Duties:
* Provide one-on-one tutoring in English and Maths to Looked After Children (LAC) preparing for GCSE exams
* Create individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities
* Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to improve students' understanding and academic performance
* Monitor progress, assess strengths and weaknesses, and provide feedback to students and guardians
* Collaborate with educational professionals to ensure students' educational goals are met
Required Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Specialisation in English and Maths education
* Experience working with Looked After Children or vulnerable young people
* Strong knowledge of GCSE curriculum and exam requirements
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
* At least 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience in English and Maths
* Understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children in education
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their academic potential
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
* Additional certifications in teaching and learning support
* Knowledge of child welfare and safeguarding policies
Working Conditions:
This role requires working part-time hours on a temporary basis. The tutor will be expected to travel to the students' location in Chigwell, Essex. The work environment may involve working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and challenging educational circumstances.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
