The Role As a Business Development Manager you are passionate about solution driven selling and providing an exceptional client experience. You are a technical expert who loves helping your clients solve real business problems. You have a deep understanding of your company’s products and services can communicate their value to various organizational stakeholders through web demos in person meetings and the delivery of tailored product proposals. You excel at hunting new business and managing the sales process from prospecting to close.
Responsibilities
• Build a pipeline of direct prospects and manage the sales stages from initiate to close
• Identify and recruit new channel partners and Value-Added Resellers (VARs) to resell our solutions in their markets and client bases
• Educate prospects and clients on product through web demos and in person meetings
• Plan, direct and coordinate sales support activities, including management of the sales pipeline through sales tools and CRM system
• Involved in all phases of the sales life-cycle including: identifying and developing leads; meeting with clients; developing value propositions; financial deal structuring; to contract negotiation and closing
• Generate a high volume of sales related activities including demo presentations and proposals
• Perform all aspects of selling professionally including: prospecting, approaching, presenting, handling objections, closing and follow-up
• Understand the competitive landscape (strengths, weaknesses, benefits) and determine how to position us to win
• Maintaining relationships with existing clients and upselling or cross-selling where possible.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all products and service offerings
• Attainment or over achievement of quarterly and yearly sales targets.
Qualifications
• 5+ years’ of technical sales experience including field sales experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or similar discipline or combination of experience and education can be considered.
• Experience selling into healthcare, higher education and commercial/corporate real estate verticals considered highly desirable.
• Experience selling energy efficiency, engineering, building control or sustainability solutions is highly desirable for this role.
• Ability to manage complex sales cycle and experience in negotiations and strategic sales planning • Experience with Hubspot or other CRM systems

• Ability to travel up to 25%.
