The Receptionist serves as a communication hub for all departments, assisting the reception manager and supervisor with daily duties while maintaining a constant and consistent presence at the desk. Responsibilities include greeting guests in a polite and timely manner upon arrival, monitoring coat check service, and having full knowledge of all relevant information regarding the restaurant, service standards, and menus. Ensure all special requests are handled efficiently and accurately, compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and oversee general day-to-day correspondence and internal administration. Be aware of VIP guests, food critics, special needs guests, known allergies, etc. Carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by the reception and reservation manager.
Daily Responsibilities
* Check the handover from the previous day
* Open and close reception following the checklist
* Check the day’s book and ensure the tables are set accordingly
* Ensure the guest profiles are up to date
* Update client profiles after each service (anything out of the ordinary to be communicated to Management team and chef)
* Write service reports
* Take guests to their allocated table, pull the table and the chairs, present the menus
* Ensure the reception area is clean and tidy at all times and stocked with all required stationery
* Assist the floor staff with table relays if needed
* Be aware of any special requests, allergies, etc.
* Prepare the pre-service briefing
* Deal with all incoming enquiries by phone and email in a timely manner
* Distribute the service sheets and update the management team on any profiles, particular requests, allergies, birthdays, etc.
* Assist the cloakroom attendant when necessary
* Handle all guest details with care and protect all personal data
* Cover shifts at the reservations office if required
