Role and key responsibilities
1. Preparation of the financial and pricing responses for client RFP submissions and other client pitch materials
2. Working with the partners and the pitch team in relation to the pricing of work and client rate agreements
3. Becoming a key pricing contact through provision of pricing support to the groups and sectors
4. Assist partners in understanding the financial and pricing levers in their respective areas
5. Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support pricing decisions
6. Become a trusted advisor to the business as part of the pricing, bid and matter lifecycle
7. Client facing fee negotiations and meetings
8. Support development and delivery of the pricing related projects
9. Supporting application of the firm wide pricing policy and monitor compliance with the policy
10. Conduct post completion reviews in relation to matter profitability
11. Produce and interpret financial information and analysis for departments, partners and fee earners
12. The management and development of a small team of pricing analysts
13. Deliver and create training collateral to the Partnership and other functions in order to share pricing best practice.
14. Other ad hoc project support as required
Skills and experience
15. Significant experience within Pricing or Commercial Finance in the Legal sector or professional services
16. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
17. Ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, professional level business services employees, and peers.
18. Experience with leading cross-practice and multi-jurisdictional proposals or similar complex projects.
19. Strong organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
20. Experience working independently, as well as within cross-functional teams, in a collaborative, professional environment.
21. Bbility to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
22. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
23. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment.
24. Educated to degree level or higher, preferably in related field.
25. CIMA, ACCA or MBA qualification preferred
