We areseeking a parttime support worker/team leader in the BurwellCambridge area for 20 hours per week. The hours will follow arotating schedule so the working days may vary each week; this canbe discussed further during the interview. The work hours will bebetween 9:30am and 6:30pm. The pay rate is 14.40 per hour and 15.05per hour at weekends. Team leaders will also receive an additional173 permonth.
Ourclient is a charming gentleman in his 70s who sustained a traumaticbrain injury and orthopaedic injuries in a road traffic accident. Alifelong resident of Cambridge he is welltravelled and enjoysstaying informed about news politics and current affairs. Heappreciates engaging in conversations about these topics as well ashistory and the places he has visited. He also loves going out todifferent places for lunch andcoffee.
Ourclient who has dysarthria sometimes finds communicationchallenging. Therefore support workers should be patient have astrong command of English and possess excellent communicationskills.
Supportis needed to help our client engage in community activitiesincluding social leisure and exercise pursuits. Assistance withdomestic tasks such as cleaning food preparation laundry andironing is also required. While our client is generally mobile hismobility decreases when he is fatigued necessitating the use of anattendantpropelled wheelchair outdoors. You will work under theguidance of medical personnel therapists and other professionals toassist with prescribed treatment and rehabilitation programs whichwill include managing dressings as an when required.

* Checkingand authorising monthlytimesheets
* Approvingannual leave and arranging cover asneeded
* Servingas the point of contact for staff regarding sickleave

Forthis role you will need to drive our clients adapted motabilityvehicle. Additionally you will have accessto a vehicle due to the clients village location as there arelimited transportlinks.
