We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist for our Ipswich based engineering client. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for precision engineering. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for operating various machines to produce high-quality components, ensuring that all specifications and tolerances are met. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Duties
Operate manual milling machines and lathes to manufacture components according to engineering drawings.
Assemble parts and components with precision, ensuring adherence to specifications.
Employ power tools safely and effectively in the machining process.
Collaborate with engineers and other machinists to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Must have experience of setting and operating Manual mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Good mechanical skills with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Experience with tooling, grinding, milling, welding, and assembly processes is essential.
Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Hours 7am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Good pay rate, with increase after 3 months. Immediate start for the right applicant.
