Main purpose of the role: To support the Catering Team in delivering a customer focused catering service throughout the Hospital following agreed work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with the National Standards for these services. Main duties and responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of food and beverages for the staff and patients within the Hospital To be responsible for ordering of patient meals and to maintain an effective system of communication with the Kitchen and Nursing Staff with regard to patients dietary requirements To assist with meal service at ward level Ensure compliance with all legislation relating to food safety management Store keeping including, checking deliveries, storage and stock rotation To ensure all catering areas are cleaned in accordance with daily and weekly cleaning schedules Care and safe use of catering equipment Maintain & replenish stock and ensure that equipment is clean & well maintained Disposal of waste in accordance with HMT Waste Policy. General Responsibilities To be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others whilst at work, including colleagues, residents and visitors to the Home and for alerting the officers responsible to any hazards or potential risks to health and safety. To be fully conversant with the HMT policies relating to Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Whistleblowing. To ensure compliance with the HMT Information Governance Policy and GDPR, maintaining an appropriate level of confidentiality around issues that may be personal or commercially sensitive. To ensure compliance with National and local Infection Prevention and Control guidance and policies Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships both with colleagues, residents, visitors and other health professionals and agencies.
