Due to rapid growth the McDermott Group are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the finance team to work across the multiple companies within the group, including their Automotive division. The ideal candidate will assist with the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing accounts payable, receivables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Accounts Assistant
£26,500.00 - £28,000.00 DOE
Holidays: 30 days. Additional days per year of service, maximum of 5. Buy back scheme of additional 5 days

Responsibilities
* Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered too
* Manage accounts payable and receivable across multiple business entities
* Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations
* Assist with VAT returns and month-end reporting
* Maintain accurate financial records and support audits
* Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations
* Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements.
Essential Skills
* Experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a multi-company environment
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial processes
* Proficiency in accounting software (experience in Sage 200 would be advantageous but not essential) and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills
* AAT qualification (or working towards) preferred
* Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/ provided.
