Job Summary
Due to significant growth, three new roles have been created for semi-skilled Sealer/Cleaner/Polisher/Paint Touch Up Operators.
Based in our thriving East Cowes facilities, and reporting into one of our Team Leaders, you will be required to seal/clean/polish/paint touch up internal and external assemblies and sub-assemblies within the paint shop and/or out in the production areas, in jig.
Job Responsibilities
Depending on requirements and location within the company, to undertake one or more of the following examples:
* Sealing
* Cleaning/preparing parts
* Part movement
* Painting (touch up)
* Polishing
* Part making parts to production order and drawing requirements
* Compliance with all GKN Aerospace health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and standards
* Compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including export control regulations.
Job Qualifications
Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:
Essential:
* Experience of using small hand tools and ideally will have worked with gels and silicones in a previous role
* Good level of literacy and numeracy
* Displays a safety first mind-set at all times
* Effective communicator
* Ability to work effectively to deadlines and schedules
* Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
* Works effectively within, and can adhere to standardised processes and/or work instructions
* Able to work both independently, or as part of a team.
* Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail
* To have the flexibility to work various shifts if required
Desirable:
* Previous experience component sealing, polishing and part marking experience
* Aerospace and/or manufacturing experience.
* Experience of working within an organisation with a Lean /continuous improvement culture.
* Forklift/PED stacker licence (if applicable within department).
