As an Underwriting Apprentice within our Municipal business, you'll be contributing to the development and management of a specific area of insurance. You'll support our team delivering a first-class service to our customers. This is a permanent role, your apprenticeship is just the start of your career with us!

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
We have direct contact with our customers and are responsible for maintaining a profitable book of Public Sector business, whilst supporting customers in managing the ever-changing risks they face.
Your role could involve:
* Understanding the risks a customer can face and how our products and services can support them
* Assessing what could go wrong for a customer and how we make sure we charge them the right amount to ensure we have enough funds available to support them when they need us
* Review what kinds of situations need to be covered and make sure our policy is worded to provide the right protection
* Building relationships and developing your negotiation skills to work more strongly with our customers and partners.
* Working with experienced underwriters who will support you and help you navigate a dynamic and rapidly changing insurance market.

* Gather and interpret relevant information to provide a return on insurance decisions.
* Match client’s needs with available insurance products and services.
* Optimises the potential return on insurance decisions within the scope of own role by identifying and positioning the client’s case with the insurer.
