We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner, to join our fast-growing Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Havering. Havering was successful in establishing its first two Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in January 2022 during the Wave 5/6 of the national MHST rollout. We were successful in establishing a third team in October 2023. We take pride in our multicultural team, where our staff members come from various backgrounds and cultures. Some staff members are involved in a Quality Improvement (QI) projects, ensuring the effectiveness and relevance of our service. Aligned with the government's priority to enhance access to mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the Mental Health Practitioner role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions. This role involves working across educational and healthcare sectors in England. MHSTs Aims To Support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems through evidence-based interventions Support schools in developing their whole school approach to mental health Provide timely advice to school staff and to liaise with other services to help children and young people get the right help and stay in education. The successful candidate will work in partnership with schools, to support children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties. They will work in partnership with schools, children, young people, and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes. Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. High Cost Area Supplement – London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).
