An opportunity has arisen in North Tyneside to appoint an enthusiastic and resourceful permanent FTE Educational Psychologist. T
he successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting array of work, including:
* Inclusion projects aimed at bringing about transformational change in schools.
* Multi-agency work with HIVE, the team leading on improving outcomes for children in care, children with a social worker and children who have experienced trauma.
* Targeted support for Early Years settings and Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs).
* Development and delivery of training for educational settings and the North Tyneside workforce.
Alongside the abovementioned opportunities, all our psychologists deliver a fair balance of both statutory assessment work and SLA work into educational settings. We have successfully operated under a traded service arrangement with schools and other agencies since 2012 and have seen demand for our service grow year on year. SLA commissioned activity can include a diverse range of work including the following:
* Consultative support to school staff, parents / carers.
* Participatory action research and evaluative research.
* Therapeutic support to children and young people 0 to 25 years.
* Assessments of special educational needs and disabilities.
* Assessment for special examination arrangements.
* Design and implementation of personalised programmes of interventions.
* Design and delivery group level interventions for with children, young people and school staff.
* Design and delivery of workshops for parents / carers.
* Delivery of staff training and professional development activities.
* Bereavement and critical incident support to schools.

Requirements of the post:
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) clearance.
* Honours degree in psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society and a postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
* Health and Care Professionals Council registered or will have eligibility for HCPC registration at the end of current training programme.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
