Due to an ever-increasing demand for our services, Bromley Healthcare's Children's SLT Service is continuing to expand our fantastic and supportive team.

Main duties of the job
· Develop and provide universal, targeted and specialist speech and language therapy services to patients with speech, language, and communication needs.
· Make differential diagnoses based on evidence from assessments, leading to decisions about intervention/treatment.
· Communicate complex condition-related information from assessment to patients/clients, carers, families, and members of the multidisciplinary team/other professions.
· Maintain sensitivity at all times to the emotional needs of patients/clients and their carers.
· Negotiate and work closely with patients/clients, carers, families, and other professionals, agreeing decision-making and prioritization relevant to the patient/client’s management.
· Initiate and provide a variety of treatment options according to patients' needs.
· Use forms of alternative and augmentative communication as indicated from assessment to maximize the client’s communication.
· Demonstrate empathy with clients, carers, families, and colleagues.
· Adapt practice to meet individual patient/client circumstances.
· Form productive relationships with clients who may be under stress and/or have challenging communication difficulties.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Recognised speech & language therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
* Successful completion of RCSLT newly qualified competencies.
* Health Professions Council License to practice.
* Registered member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Membership of relevant CEN.
* Evidence of appropriate external and internal training as appropriate to developing specialism.
Experience
* Evidence of developing responsibility for clinic and caseload management.
* Experience of working with other professionals relevant to client groups.
* Pre-school and school age experience.
* Secondary age experience.
Specific Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, and empathy.
* Well-developed analytical skills with knowledge necessary for caseload management, assessment, and therapy relevant to client group.
* Highly developed auditory and perceptual skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of clients/patients.
* Ability to transcribe speech phonetically.
* Skills in handling clients/patients with disabilities.
* Ability to maintain intense concentration in all aspects of patient management for prolonged periods.
* Well-organised, reflective practitioner.
* UK Driver's license & access to a car for work purposes.
