Children's Speech and Language Therapist

You will be joining the Children's Integrated Therapy (CIT) team at an exciting juncture! As we implement a new Service structure and a new Therapy model based on Care Aims framework (Kate Malcomess) and Therapy Outcome Measures (TOMs), we have a vacancy for enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated therapist to join our team in the City of Oxford, based at our East Oxford Health Centre.
This role can be offered on a full time basis (37.5 hours per week) or part time (minimum of 22.5 hours per week).
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.
Main duties of the job
* Working with experienced colleagues, you will be based in our city locality. You will have a minimum of 2 days in a special school combined with community settings supporting children on our core clinical pathways (Speech Sound Disorders, Language Difficulties, Social Communication), giving you a fantastic breadth of experience, and the possibility of exploring different areas of interest as you consider your future career.
* You will have opportunities to work alongside other members of the CIT team - Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and CIT Assistant Practitioners, as well as collaborating with the wider MDT in Education, Health and Social Services.
* You'll manage your own caseload to manage and prioritise, delivering timely assessment and intervention packages, contributing to the SEND process, engaging in clinical meetings (including Multi Agency Safeguarding Supervision sessions), and delivering training to staff and parents.
About us
Oxfordshire Children's Integrated Therapy Service is made up of Children's Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, profession specific Therapy Instructors, Integrated Therapy Assistant Practitioners and an Administrative Team. We are jointly commissioned by the ICB and Oxfordshire County Council. The Service is led by Operational Managers and Professional Leads for each Therapy.
The SLT team is made up of Band 5 and 6 Therapists, Technical Assistants, Apprentices, and both Specialist Team Leads and Specialist Clinical Leads (Band 7). We provide Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people aged 0 - 19 years across Oxfordshire in a range of settings. The Service delivery model is based on six Clinical Pathways and underpinned by the current evidence base.
We offer a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing supervision and appraisal with development reviews from experienced specialist staff, regular in-house training as well as opportunities for involvement in Service Development.

Qualifications
* Recognized speech and language therapy degree/qualification or equivalent
* HCPC registration (pending)
* RCSLT membership (pending)
* Any SLT specific training attended
Skills and Experience
* Experience of working with children and young people with speech language and communication needs
* Able to communicate effectively particularly where barriers to language exist
* Able to travel between sites
