Job Description
We currently have a great opportunity for a Risk Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the second line oversight of operational and financial risks within esure, ensuring the risk management framework is embedded within the business by helping business teams identify, document, and manage their key risks and controls and providing objective advice and challenging risks and issues, ensuring key risk processes are understood and followed.
Day to day activities
Supporting the Head of Risk and Capital by:
1. Running the Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process, including stress testing, scenario analysis, risk appetite, emerging risks, and reporting to Board level committees.
2. Managing, maintaining, calculating, and reporting standard formula SCR regularly.
3. Providing 2nd Line of Defence risk oversight and challenge for business areas (Finance, Actuarial, Pricing & Underwriting, and Claims), including partner management, risk reviews, PRA regulatory tracking, raising key risks, and ensuring actions and root cause analysis are completed.
4. Offering mentorship on identifying and managing key risks, controls, metrics, and issues.
5. Conducting 2nd line control assessments and investigations or producing reports on risk or control issues.
6. Supporting projects within business areas.
7. Acting as the Expert Administrator of the Xactium Risk System.
8. Providing ad-hoc support on other team responsibilities.
Qualifications
We'd love you to bring:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Strong customer focus.
3. Proven track record in relationship building and robust oversight and challenge of the 1st line.
4. Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
5. Strong financial foresight.
6. Experience with Solvency II and ORSA.
7. Understanding of risk quantification methodologies and tools.
8. Data-driven approach with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and build succinct reports.
9. Experience in a risk, assurance, or audit role.
10. Good understanding of the financial services or other regulated industry.
Preferred:
1. Confident presentation skills to management-level audiences.
2. Organizational and methodological skills.
3. A curious and questioning mind.
4. Agile experience.
5. Financial crime experience.
