About the role
The Ashmolean Museum, in the heart of Oxford, is looking for a Senior Sales Assistant to join the Retail Team. We are a small, friendly team, covering two shops, the box office and the welcome desk at the museum, selling a variety of beautiful products, plus tickets and memberships.
The role includes leading the team to achieve KPIs, using EPoS to process sales and tickets, up-selling both products and donations, plus stock management and cash handling.
This is a permanent, variable-hours role, over seven days a week, including bank holidays and some evenings. It is anticipated that you will work approximately four days a week, at least one of which will be at the weekend (or 28 hrs/wk).
The role involves lifting and relocating deliveries to the respective shop or stock room locations.

About You
You will be an enthusiastic person, passionate about achieving personal sales targets and supporting others in achieving theirs.
You will have good IT skills, previous experience working in a fast-paced, customer facing environment.
Good organisation and planning skills, plus ability to manage time effectively is also essential.
An interest in art and archaeology, museums or galleries is desirable.
