Overview
We are seeking a professional and friendly Optical Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy office environment.
Responsibilities
1. Greet and welcome visitors in a warm and professional manner.
2. Answer and direct incoming phone calls using excellent phone etiquette.
3. Manage the scheduling of appointments and meetings for staff members.
4. Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, and maintaining office supplies.
5. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including using Excel spreadsheets and basic accounting.
6. Use optical equipment.
7. Maintain an organised reception area to create a welcoming environment for clients.
8. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring timely delivery.
9. Support team members with various office tasks as required.
Skills
1. Optical experience preferred.
2. Proficient in clerical, office, and administrative tasks.
3. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
4. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
5. Familiarity with Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
6. Experience with QuickBooks and cash handling is advantageous.
7. Competent in typing accurately and efficiently for data entry purposes.
8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
