Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team. At North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, we are committed to providing high-quality care and support to our community.
Main Duties of the Job: You will join a supportive team and receive full training on all aspects of the role. Tasks include maintaining working papers, managing budgets, and dealing with a range of enquiries from staff and external customers, so strong communication skills are essential. Our work is audited, and it is therefore vital that accurate records are maintained.
Working for Our Organisation: Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country. The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high-quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including promoting integration of health and care services, improving people's health and well-being, and reducing health inequalities.
With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams, and other community-based area providers.
The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, which includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities: At interview, you will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn and possess excellent organisational skills. You will be a team player with initiative, able to manage your own workload and meet service demands. Good IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are required.
Person Specification:
Qualifications - Essential Criteria:
* Postgraduate Diploma Professional Accountancy Qualification or equivalent experience
* NVQ Level 5/AAT Qualified / Part Qualified accountant or equivalent experience
* Understanding of Commissioning
* Proven track record to work to complex changing priorities and tight deadlines.
* Evidence of supporting project management and project implementation and working to strict deadlines
Desirable Criteria:
* Able to demonstrate ongoing personal / professional development
Experience - Essential Criteria:
* Experience and expertise in a range of accounting areas (reconciliation and balances, finance computer systems and ledgers, coding structures etc)
* Project management experience and or qualification
* Evidence of experience of working in a health-related organisation
* Experience of planning and organising workload to ensure deadlines are met
* Extensive experience in the use of computerised ledger systems
* Use of Oracle
* Experience of analysing complex data
* Experience of working with and developing complex spreadsheets
* Evidence of working in a primary care setting
* Evidence of supporting large scale complex change projects
* Evidence of planning and organising resources to support project implementation
* Evidence of successfully applying negotiation and influencing skills
