This role is an apprenticeship role where you will earn-while-you-learn. This role is a onsite based role with some local travel between Huddersfield and Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to work within BAM.
Your mission
Production of Environmental & Social Management plans, Environmental risk assessments, Site Waste management plans, and Environmental incident response plans.
Completing desk studies using software such as project mapper and magic maps.
Completing site visits and surveys.
Delivering tool box talks and presentations to site teams.
Attending weekly meetings, for example, with the construction teams where you provide ideas and solutions to problems.
Support with Environmental permit and licence applications.
Environmental auditing & compliance of works against the Environment and social management plan.
Collecting and collating the projects environmental performance records and data.
Promoting a culture that supports environmental best practice in the workplace.
Following procedures and policies e.g., BAMs Environmental Management System.
Involvement with STEM and social value work by taking part in career fairs, school events, mock interviews etc.
Who are we looking for?
Excellent written and presentation skills.
Enthusiastic, self motivated and able to work on own initiative.
High level of personal drive and commitment, with effective goal setting ability.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, adapt to new and complex situations whilst meeting deadlines
Process driven and accurate.
Ability to communicate effectively and to build and maintain good working relationships.
Proven ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
Excellent IT skills to include power point, word, and excel.
Admin experience.
Excellent timekeeping & attendance.
Full UK driving license as travel is required.
