What you’ll do:
Prepare and cook high-quality meals within your designated section, ensuring consistency and presentation meet company and client expectations.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within your section, ensuring all equipment and kitchen areas are kept to the highest standards of hygiene.
Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance by adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
Assist with menu planning and development, providing input on seasonal offerings and client-specific requirements to create a diverse and exciting food experience.
Monitor and control food waste to ensure cost-effective operations, adhering to portion control standards and minimising waste.
Ensure the timely preparation and service of food in accordance with the client's schedule, managing your section to meet service deadlines efficiently.
Liaise with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and effective communication between the kitchen and dining areas.
Work with the head chef to maintain stock levels, manage ordering, and ensure all ingredients are stored and rotated correctly to prevent spoilage.
Assist in maintaining health and safety standards within the kitchen, reporting any hazards or issues to the senior team.
What you bring:
Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role in a contract catering environment.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of kitchen staff.
Creativity and a passion for food, with an eye for detail and presentation.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Experience in a similar catering environment (e.g., corporate, educational, healthcare, or event catering).
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent qualifications).
Knowledge of allergen management and dietary requirements.
