We are a values-led organisation. As such we, encourage everyone to be open and honest. Our collaborative culture, the size of our business and our belief in the empowerment of the individual means opportunities at Asda are abundant.
Our 2025 Logistics Degree Apprenticeship Programme has been developed in partnership with the depot managers of today for the logistics leaders of tomorrow. This opportunity offers apprentices at ASDA on-the-job, real-world experience across Warehousing and Warehousing Management, and acquiring knowledge of our wider departments like Human Resources, Finance, and Health & Safety.
The degree apprenticeship scheme is designed to support our core operation. You will be based in one of ASDA’s warehouse depots local to the region you currently live in, this is where you will learn the operation from the ground up.
On our 4-year programme, you'll complete a series of placements in our warehouses, progressing at pace and taking on more accountability each year.
You'll also study for a Level 6 apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University. Delivered over four years through blended learning, the programme combines real management experience with online learning modules, lectures, and face-to-face tuition at university. We will of course, cover your costs and make sure you have time off to study.
For the first 6 months you will work as a warehouse colleague, familiarising yourself with our warehouse operations before stepping up to a department manager.
As a department manager you will lead a team of 10 -25 colleagues who you will motivate to deliver the best standards across the department. You'll have an eye for detail, maintaining warehouse floor standards and coaching your team to do the same.
By the end of the programme, you will work towards becoming a Shift Manager, leading a team of 5-8 department managers.
What you will need:
This is a 24/7 operation and therefore you will be required to work shifts as follows:
4am – 1pm or 5am -2pm 4 days one week and 5 days the next. Shift and weekend working is a requirement of the role, and we may need you to be flexible with your work pattern.
Due to the shift patterns, it is recommended that you hold a UK driving licence and have your own transport.
Recently gained or predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS points.
A minimum Level 4 in Maths and English GCSEs.
Right to work within the UK and have been resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years before the start of the CIMA Apprenticeship.
We are passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive workforce, representative of the communities we serve, and are creating ways to inspire diverse talent to join Asda.
If you are successful at each stage, you will progress to the next. This will include:
1. A short, blended personality and numerical assessment
2. Three, quick video interview questions
3. A half-day assessment centre where you will meet the team and find out more about the programme.
