Mechanical Design Engineer
Norbar Torque Tools Ltd., the world leading torque tool manufacturer, has a vacancy for an experienced individual to join our dynamic and free-thinking Engineering Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a talented team, responsible for designing innovative, class-leading products to achieve the highest level of precision within the field of torque control.
Responsible to the Head of Engineering, your duties will include:
1. Mechanical Design using both CAD & CAE, assessing both safety and functionality of concepts, whilst aligning with the design brief;
2. The ability to perform essential engineering calculations and be familiar with analysis software (FEA) in evaluating designs;
3. Collaboration with project stakeholders to address design and functionality issues whilst developing effective solutions;
4. Understanding of ‘Design for Manufacture’ using proven techniques and principles;
5. Generating & maintenance of relevant business system data (BoMs) along with maintaining control of Engineering documents via appropriate ECN processes.
Ideally you will be/will have:
1. An HNC/HND qualified in relevant Mechanical Engineering discipline; or equivalent would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
2. Hands on experience in mechanical product design;
3. Knowledge of Injection Moulding, Castings, Forgings and Machining processes, together with an appreciation of Gear Design, is desirable but not essential;
4. Experience with Siemens NX & Team Center is highly desirable;
5. The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
6. Several years’ experience in a similar role with an ability to deliver engineering solutions within budget and on time.
In return for a 38.5-hour week, we can offer a competitive salary in the range of £55,100 - £60,000.
