We are looking for a Support Worker to take on a Temporary position for up to 12 months with Joe. Do you love the outdoors and thrive on a challenge? Essential for this job:
Must hold a full UK driving licence. Additionally, you must enjoy and be able to participate in outdoor pursuits.
Joe is registered blind; however, that does not hold him back. He loves the outdoors and enjoys walking over rough terrain, cycling, kayaking, and swimming, which are important for his emotional and physical well-being. Joe lives in his own home in Plymouth with a well-established team that supports his daily lifestyle and manages his home and health.
Joe's family is close by and very important to him. It is essential that you work to maintain and support these relationships. Joe is looking for someone who can use initiative, think on their feet, and be enthusiastic and motivated to enable his busy active lifestyle. As a support worker, you will need to be able to work alone and as part of a team, using initiative to ensure Joe's immediate needs are met. In addition to great days, you may also face more challenging days as Joe struggles with communication, which may sometimes be displayed with physical behaviour that could challenge.
You must be open to learning, ongoing training, and personal development.
