Cpl is working on a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to join a Global Technology and Logistics company with HQ based in Banbridge.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and proactive Legal Counsel to join a thriving dynamic team in a newly created role.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal support across all commercial operations, handling a variety of legal matters, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating risks while supporting the company’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., supplier, distributor, vendor, licensing, and partnership agreements).
* Ensure contracts align with company policies, regulatory standards, and risk tolerance.
Legal Advisory
* Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on business transactions, strategies, and potential risks.
* Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the company’s compliance.
Risk Management
* Identify potential legal risks in commercial operations and propose mitigation strategies.
* Develop and implement policies to minimise legal and contractual risks.
Compliance
* Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to ensure adherence to applicable laws, including data protection, competition law, and anti-bribery regulations.
* Support training initiatives to educate staff on legal and compliance matters.
Dispute Resolution
* Manage pre-litigation disputes and liaise with external counsel, if necessary, for litigation matters.
* Resolve commercial disputes efficiently and effectively.
Collaboration
* Partner with cross-functional teams such as finance, procurement, marketing, and sales and HR to align legal support with business objectives.
* Act as the primary legal point of contact for commercial initiatives.
Documentation and Record Keeping
* Maintain and organise legal documentation, including contracts, policies, and templates.
* Standardise contract templates for efficiency and consistency.
Key Requirements:
* UK Qualified Lawyer.
* 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a corporate or in-house legal role.
* Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, competition law).
* Experience in providing legal advice within a commercial context.
Skills :
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving legal issues.
Desirable :
* Experience in the Technology solutions business
* Familiarity with international trade laws and cross-border contracts.
