Financial Controller – Technology
We are currently partnering with a leading technology company that are seeking a commercially astute Financial Controller to join their team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking company, working closely with the Managing Director to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the full financial function of the business, managing a dedicated finance team, and ensuring alignment with the group parent company. You will take ownership of P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting, whilst also providing valuable financial insights to support business growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Full ownership of financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations, governance standards, and group policies.
Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business performance.
Prepare and present detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior stakeholders.
Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including management accounts, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and asset management.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange (FX) strategy.
Act as the key liaison with the group parent company, ensuring reporting alignment.
Work with external auditors and tax advisors to maintain compliance.
Drive efficiencies in financial systems and processes, ensuring robust internal controls.
Lead risk management, covering insurance, legal compliance, and financial mitigation strategies.
What We’re Looking For Essential:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within an SME or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, statutory reporting, and financial compliance.
Experience working with group-level parent companies and consolidated reporting.
Commercial experience within a manufacturing or technology-driven business.
Excellent financial modelling, analytical skills, and business acumen.
Strong leadership and team management experience.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Desirable:
Experience in industrial computing, automation, or manufacturing sectors.
Knowledge of ERP systems, MRP processes, Oracle FCC, Business Central, or Power BI.
Familiarity with group reporting frameworks and corporate governance policies.
