With a background in Manufacturing Engineering and knowledge and experience in production introduction, continuous improvement, and technology development, you’ll be responsible for identifying areas for removing waste and driving through simplification of both functional processes and Methods of Manufacture. Accountable for driving in solutions and demonstrating the benefits for enabling improved operational excellence.

What you will be doing:
* Working across the Manufacturing Engineering community e.g., MEMs, Special Process Owners, Producibility Engineers, Production Support etc., and where applicable with the suppliers, drive improvements to manufacturing processes and work toward consistent best practice across the business.
* Support the development of the Manufacturing Engineering community by coaching best practice for the industrialisation of technical packages for the submarines industry.
* Continually improve the technical package standards and ways of working for achieving the product Quality, Cost and Delivery commitments for the future.
* Manage the mechanism that delivers the right improvement priorities in collaboration with the Delivery Business Units (DBUs).
* Provide support across the different DBUs and the Submarines Enterprise and help drive and embed the functional improvement plan.
Who we’re looking for:
To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
* Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent).
* UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent.
* Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g. IEng or CEng), or aspiring to become accredited.
* Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the drive to deliver within a challenging mixed volume, production environment.
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business.
* General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
* Has led significant projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
* Has experienced manufacturing change in a suitable combination of ways, such as facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion, new product introduction, process revalidation, quality improvement.
* Has provided technical and professional leadership to a team of Engineers.
