We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician (MT2) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a team player, capable of maintaining high standards of work and coordinating activities to optimize performance. This is a permanent role with Continental 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights: 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off.
Key Attributes:
1. Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
2. Minimum 4+ years’ Maintenance Technician experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
3. Multi-skilled Technician Experience (Mechanical & Electrical)
4. Decisive with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively to meet deadlines
5. Excellent numeric and analytical skills
6. Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative
7. Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
8. Team player who will work with others to achieve company goals
9. Methodical with excellent organisational and communication skills
10. Excellent problem-solving skills
11. Ability to multi-task on technical issues
Key Tasks and Duties:
1. Work within the ethos and standards of the company
2. Troubleshoot and repair all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical
3. Identify root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long-term solutions
4. Ensure production efficiency is maximised and return production to full capacity promptly
5. Record all breakdowns in our Pemac CMMS system
6. Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and suggest improvements
7. Maintain systems for spare parts stock and ensure correct utilisation
8. Dismantle, adjust, modify, improve, and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals, or drawings
9. Participate in all machine installations, continuous improvements, and maintenance projects
10. Work with the Maintenance Manager to address causes of downtime and suggest process improvements
11. Ensure that all production & maintenance KPI’s are achieved
12. Maintain a safe, clean working environment and carry out work safely ensuring safety standards are met
13. Liaise with relevant departments to assist in the smooth day-to-day running of the organisation
14. Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position as requested by management
15. Undertake training as required (MEWP, Forklift, Abrasive Wheel, PFPE, Manual Handling, Fire Extinguisher, etc.)
16. Provide cover for Maintenance Technicians when required
17. Flexible working hours to meet production or maintenance deadlines
18. Work shift rotation which includes evenings and weekends
19. Be available for overtime as required
20. Complete advanced training (Confined Spaces, First Aiders, etc.)
21. Complete internal MT induction training (Site Training, CBM)
22. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects
23. Provide Apprentices & Trainees with assistance and guidance in learning and development
