We are currently supporting the recruitment of a Payroll Technician for our client based in Kettering. Our client works with SME organisations to deliver both HR and payroll services across the UK. They pride themselves on providing exceptional payroll services to a diverse portfolio of clients and are seeking someone passionate about accuracy and efficiency to help deliver outstanding results.
Salary: Up to £30,000
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm - 40 hour working week
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working after training period - 3 days in the office

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Processing end-to-end payroll for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant legislation (e.g., RTI, PAYE, National Insurance).
2. Managing client queries and providing excellent customer service.
3. Calculating statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP, etc.) and processing pension payments.
4. Processing starters, leavers, and amendments including setting up HMRC tax codes and student loan updates.
5. Calculating termination payments for leavers and statutory sickness, maternity, paternity, shared paternal leave, and adoption payments.
6. Processing P11Ds.
7. Processing increases and calculation of back pay.
8. Processing month-end RTI submissions for clients.
9. Maintaining accurate payroll records.
10. Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation.
11. Using Sage payroll software.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Previous experience of completing end-to-end payroll (practice or Bureau experience desirable but not essential).
2. Experience of payroll software - Sage Payroll being advantageous and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables & VLOOKUPs).
3. A strong team ethic with good communication skills.
4. Good attention to detail and the ability to organise and prioritise tasks to demanding deadlines.
