The Pensions Team focus represents employers, scheme trustees and product providers on a wide range of legal issues which involve trust law, legislation, case law and regulatory guidance. We work on a variety of pension schemes and the majority of the work involves high value arrangements, and this is a high performing, hard-working and collegiate team. The team has a strong industry reputation and many of its members are active in industry-wide organisations, including the Association of Pension Lawyers. The focus for each lawyer who joins the team is to integrate into client-facing teams while building their own reputation and knowledge. From the start, you will be working on high value cases and transactions and will be expected to take on significant responsibility allowing you to build your own place in the team and industry presence. We are looking for an energetic, diligent and bright Newly Qualified Lawyer. The work is often fast paced but detailed and requires genuine commitment. Responsibilities Proactively support senior members of the team and partners. Preparing written and oral advice on legal issues for clients, including legal research and analysing written evidence. Reviewing corporate due diligence materials to advise in merger and acquisition projects Preparing thorough documentation required in the preparation of cases for counsel and/or court, including drafting schedules. Liaising with clients, colleagues, other professional advisers and handling matters with the appropriate sensitivity. Experience and Knowledge Experience in UK pensions law. An ability to build relationships with clients, team members and other professional advisers. Enthusiastic team player with commitment to quality and client care. Good case and time management skills. Strong academics is essential.
