We are recruiting for an experienced Bid Writer on behalf of a Leading Tier One Landscape Construction Contractor based in Slough. On offer is a salary of up to £55,000 (negotiable based on experience), a bonus scheme, hybrid working options and the opportunity to be the first inhouse Bid Writer that the company employs in a role that is fully supported by the senior management team. Their expertise includes complex hard landscaping, water features, irrigation systems, external lighting, street furniture, tree planting, and soft landscaping, all seamlessly integrated with ongoing maintenance services. Key Responsibilities As the Bid Writer you will work closely with their experienced commercial and pre-construction teams as well as external bid professionals and will play a pivotal role in establishing the in-house bid function and systems. Responsibilities will include: Bid Management: Planning and managing all aspects of bids, providing leadership and ensuring timely, high-quality submissions. Strategy and Planning: Developing winning strategies and implementing structured writing plans for quality-focused bids. Compliance and Analysis: Reviewing and analysing bid documents, ensuring strict compliance with client requirements. Content Development: Independently and collaboratively producing high-quality, client-focused submissions for PQQs and tenders. Research and Evidence Gathering: Researching and compiling information to update the bid library and support submissions. Document Preparation: Creating organisational charts, CVs, and other supporting documents. Quality Control: Ensuring draft submissions adequately address requirements, sourcing information to fill gaps. Submission Design: Preparing and designing bid submission folders for maximum impact. Presentation Development: Creating post-tender presentations and compelling project phases. Database Management: Maintaining project case studies, site photographs, and other marketing materials. Market Analysis: Conducting market research and tracking trends to enhance presentation materials and software. Internal Collaboration: Working closely with senior management, project managers, and technical teams to craft persuasive strategies and gather insights. Project Coordination: Managing bid timelines and ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards. Library Evolution: Contributing to the bid library's development and streamlining sales support processes. Requirements Person Specification To excel in this role, the Bid Writer will need: Proven experience as a Bid Writer, Bid Manager, Proposals Manager, or from within a similar role. A strong track record of securing profitable work and expertise in the tendering process. A background in main contracting or Tier 1/Tier 2 supply chains, with a deep understanding of construction delivery. Exceptional writing skills and to be capable of translating complex technical language into clear, persuasive content. Expertise in project management, construction planning, and industry methodologies. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent grammar and attention to detail skills that enable you to create accurate and compelling proposals. Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and regulations. The ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to travel to London, the South, and the Midlands as needed. Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple concurrently running projects and to meet tight deadlines.
