Highly prestigious London Body are looking for an experienced Senior Event Manager to take the lead on their Ceremonial Hospitality Events. These events include high visibility Banquets, Receptions, and Special Events at some of London’s most beautiful heritage and livery venues, attended by diverse audiences, including Royalty, Politicians, VVIP International Guests, and other distinguished individuals.
Role
You’ll be working in the established, friendly, and highly supportive expert events team. With the support of your Senior Lead, you’ll be the lead Senior Event Manager for your own events, which will fall into the ‘Ceremonial’ area – banquets, receptions, lunches, dinners, business/charity receptions, or commemorative events, from 20 to 700 people. You’ll work closely with committee and stakeholders, and other internal departments, from initial event proposal and guest lists through to final on-the-day delivery of these highly prestigious events. Attention to detail is crucial, as every aspect from guest arrival to their departure is significant.
You
Your event management skills are exemplary, and you have a proven background in delivering varied formal events, particularly Dinners, Banquets, Receptions, and special events, often with a high-profile audience. Ideally, you’ll have experience working at varied historical venues, including livery halls and similar heritage spaces. Experience working with Committees and senior-level stakeholders, and dealing with high-level bodies such as embassies, royalty, and senior business representatives is desirable. We are looking for someone who can quickly find their feet and take ownership within the team, so stamina and energy are essential. Specifically, we are looking for someone who can bring proven experience of:
1. End-to-end delivery of high-end hospitality events, banquets, dinners, and receptions from intimate gatherings to large events (up to 700 pax).
2. Experience working with high-level institutions/bodies, where considerations of protocol and high-level security are the norm (Royalty, Government, Embassies, Charities, Associations/Bodies, etc.).
3. Experience working directly and confidently with senior-level stakeholders/committees.
4. Experience in guest list research, invitations, and table plans.
5. Exemplary professional skills in managing all event aspects end-to-end, particularly event logistics, catering, leading tastings, suppliers, running order, briefings, security, and people flow.
6. Ability to prepare all briefings and coordinate all aspects of the event, leading internal teams and working with varied internal departments and external suppliers.
7. Level-headedness, able to deal with a wide variety of people and contacts at all levels.
8. Excellent communication skills, well-presented, diplomatic, approachable.
9. Numerate, with attention to detail and a passion for perfection.
