Clinical Physiology Manager: Respiratory and Sleep Science
Applications are invited for the post of Respiratory and Sleep Science Clinical Manager. The successful applicant will manage the health board's respiratory and sleep science service; supporting, improving and planning the delivery of services within the Health Board.
They will provide expert knowledge and clinical leadership for the respiratory and sleep physiology teams at each of the four hospital sites in Hywel Dda and community. This will involve close working relationships with the clinical physiology managers at each site to ensure service and staff development, quality assurance and governance.
Applicants should demonstrate experience in management and leadership; and a passion for clinical development and advanced practice within the physiology and science workforce.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage the delivery of respiratory and sleep services alongside the management team and clinical lead; supporting, improving and planning the delivery of respiratory and sleep services across the Health Board in secondary care and the community. They will provide expertise and leadership in addition to managing physical and human resources, and waiting lists within the service. The post holder will be responsible for planning and advising on respiratory and sleep training across the Health Board and quality assurance within the respiratory and sleep service.
The post holder will also work as a highly skilled advanced physiologist, having expert knowledge in the field of respiratory, sleep and non-invasive ventilation. They will perform with competency and autonomy, a range of procedures and specialist physiologist led clinics; encompass clinical assessment skills and interpreting results to diagnose complex pathologies and manage their patient's pathway.
The post holder will be expected to assist in the management of all aspects of the delivery of the Cardiac and Respiratory diagnostic services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent
* Registration Council for Clinical Physiology (RCCP) or HCPC registration
* Evidence of postgraduate education or training
* Clinical skills training
* Managerial qualification or proven competency acquired through accredited courses or equivalent experience to master's level
* ARTP part I and II or equivalent qualification or experience
* ARTP part III
* Recognised qualification in teaching or mentorship
* Immediate Life Support
Experience
* Extensive experience as a lead physiologist in respiratory and sleep sciences
* Experience of communicating specialist information to key stakeholders including clinicians
* Experience of planning and developing specialist services including contributing towards local and national policies
* Leadership and management experience
* Experience in research, quality control and audit activity
* Experience of analysing, interpreting and providing expert advice for specialised services
* Competency in performing a full range of respiratory diagnostic procedures
* Experience in teaching and mentoring all grades of staff
