Key responsibilities
In this ESOL lecturing job, your responsibilities will include:
1. To teach GCSE ESOL/Functional Skills ESOL to learners from Entry Level to Level 2 within the College.
2. Compose lesson plans to successfully incorporate the full duration of each lesson.
3. Execute lessons efficiently using different styles of teaching depending on the content.
4. Engage students to ensure a lively classroom atmosphere.
5. Instruct students about the structure and content of the ESOL language.
6. Teach students the spelling of words, and their meanings.
7. Emphasize the rules of composition, grammar and sentence construction.
8. Teach students the correct pronunciation of words.
9. Teach students to think critically when studying literature and poetry.
10. Teach students to analyse and question media reports, advertisements, and news reports.
Skills & experience
11. Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service
12. A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is essential
13. Up to date with latest teaching techniques and topics in ESOL instruction
14. Excellent spoken and written English language skills
15. Experience of delivering the subject.
