We are looking for a Patient Pathway Central Support Officer who can help us deliver an efficient, high-quality medical records service across the Long Term and Unscheduled Care Directorate. This role is essential to providing safe care to our patients by providing efficient and effective administration services for outpatient bookings and patient pathway management teams. The role will be key to helping us achieve our targets.
Main duties of the job
Applicants should be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, be excellent communicators with good telephone skills, and have the ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis whilst maintaining a positive approach, and providing a quality service that supports our patient care.
The post requires an efficient, caring, and proactive individual with an appreciation and understanding of the confidential nature of the work.

Job responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
1. Receive telephone queries from patients and other service users, resolving general queries, cancelling and amending appointments.
2. Where necessary provide support to the patient pathway booking teams with administration tasks as well as more specialist support with work on our patient booking systems.
3. Management of clinics which includes clinic cancellations, reappointment of cancelled appointments and checking availability of clinic slots.
Person Specification
Experience
1. A good standard of general education to GCSE level (5 GCSE grade A*-C) or equivalent.
2. Previous experience of booking outpatient appointments.
3. Previous NHS experience.
