Do you have Knowledge of relevant Environmental Legislation and supporting guidance documents? if yes, please proceed on The Opportunity Exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Environmental Adviser to provide a range of specialist environmental advice to the business with a specific focus on environmental management, legislative compliance and pollution prevention. The environmental advisor provides a service to facilitate the safe and environmentally compliant operation of the business and holds the company’s primary knowledge in Environmental Legislation. The role As the Environmental Advisor, you will be required to interact routinely with relevant regulators to foster a constructive relationship with the business. Will also liaise with other organisations/departments on site, owing to the interconnectedness of the site, especially regarding environmental compliance. This role has been deemed inside IR35 Duration: 12 Months £35 -£40 per hour Your duties and responsibilities will be Provision of advice that ensures compliance with the Environmental Permits and ensuring no noncompliances Specify the arrangements to be implemented within the Management System to ensure compliance with Environmental legislation and, where reasonably practicable, that best practice solutions are implemented. Provision of advice on contaminated land monitoring and the management of in ground contaminants. Provision of timely, appropriate and pragmatic environmental advice to the business (including to projects) on compliance with relevant environmental regulations, site environmental permits, pollution prevention, aqueous/gaseous emissions to the environment and the environmental management system. Provision of technical advice on the application and best practice for Best Available Techniques reviews to support Permitting and waste disposals. Carry out audits and/or ‘Duty of Care’ inspections on any relevant activities to ensure that operations are carried out in compliance with company arrangements and environmental legislation and ensuring that audits and inspections are completed as per the schedule. To prepare Technical Reports as required, e.g. applications to vary Environmental Permit(s), to ensure that application for changes to Environmental Permits are adequately supported.You will have the following qualifications and experience Experience of environmental management and pollution prevention from a construction/decommissioning perspective. Carry out investigative studies seeking information and guidance from people and other information sources and make recommendations based on findings. Ability to understand complex technical information and present the information clearly (verbal and written). Relevant Graduate level education or equivalent. IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management NEBOSH General Certificate or higher.
