Operations Manager - Children's Residential

REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience at Regional Manager-level in children's residential care services.
2. A proven track record of achieving at least 'good' ratings in Ofsted inspections.
3. A Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with an ambitious provider which specialises in residential services for children with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. The business is seeking an experienced Regional Manager in the sector who can mentor and support Registered Managers to create a warm and caring environment for the children they support.
THE ROLE
As Regional Manager, you will initially be responsible for the smooth running of five residential services, with further growth projected in the coming months/years. The Registered Managers of these services will all report directly to you, while you will report to the Operations Director. This role will involve visiting and supervising services, carrying out quality audits and monitoring progress, forging positive relationships with local authorities, and mentoring Registered Managers.
THE CANDIDATE
It is essential that candidates have experience as a Regional Manager in the children's social care sector. A confident multi-site operator would best suit the needs of the business as it is going through a period of significant growth. Applicants must also be commercially astute and understand what it takes to operate a portfolio of profitable services, e.g., developing relationships with local authorities and managing occupancy and agency use.
The ideal candidate should also have proven experience of delivering consistently high quality of service within the sector, and therefore you should have a track record of 'good' or 'outstanding' CQC ratings. The position requires somebody who has extensive knowledge of the sector and is able to confidently lead a team of Registered Managers to ensure great quality care to all service users and some services in the remit are on turnaround journeys. The business is looking for someone who is motivated to play a vital role in helping the company to achieve its goals.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
A two-stage interview process:
1. A phone call with the Operations Director
2. A face-to-face interview with the Operations Director and Owner (competency-based questions).
