Job Description:
We are looking to speak with Project Managers to help us assist our clients deliver high profile projects across the Infrastructure and Defence Sector.
As a member of our growing team, you would be working to help us make a difference with our clients in delivering highly complex projects and programmes.
You would be based out of our Bristol Office and most likely spend most of your time mixed-working with colleagues and client teams based across the South West. Most of our clients and programmes support hybrid working.
Key deliverables:
1. Leading, managing and developing project teams or work streams as part of larger projects and delivering results through others.
2. Managing and controlling the commercial aspects of projects and programmes; experienced in monthly budgeting/forecasting and managing project budgets.
3. Managing the schedule and wider tie elements of complex projects and programmes.
4. Managing internal and external stakeholders in a project/programme environment; using stakeholder management methods and techniques to manage risk and dependencies.
5. Demonstrating knowledge and experience in one or more related business/infrastructure and defence sector areas.
6. Project Business Case formulation detailing project’s objectives, costs and benefits demonstrating to stakeholders of its value.
7. Building long-term trusted advisor relationships with our clients.
Desired Experience:
1. Previous experience of working with UK Government and Tier 1 organisations would be beneficial, particularly in the Defence environment.
2. Experience of project management and/or programme management, adding value at the initial strategic planning phase all the way into implementation, construction and delivery in the context of infrastructure projects and programmes.
3. Experience in the construction and infrastructure sectors in regulated environments.
4. Experience in the Nuclear sector.
5. Previous experience of procurement and managing NEC contracts would be highly advantageous.
6. Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors on infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
Essential:
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject with relatable experience.
2. Project Management Qualification (PRINCE2/APM PMQ/AGILE).
Desirable:
1. Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM).
2. NEC accredited PM.
3. Certified project management associate.
Other essential requirements:
Working in teams/site attendance: Turner & Townsend recognises the importance of helping its employees harmonise their work and home life by offering hybrid working, that enables them to balance their working life with other priorities. Currently, we anticipate you being on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices 60% of your time, but this may flex depending on client and business requirements.
Security Clearance
Important: Before applying, due to the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Many of the clients and projects we support are subject to MoD security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
