A lovely family are seeking a part time nanny, who is experienced with younger children, for 2 children – age 22 months (boy) and 6 months (girl). The nanny should be local with their own car. Tuesday and Wednesday 7.30am – 6pm and Fridays 12pm-6pm. Friday afternoons are not essential.
The Mother requires the nanny to be physically fit and able to assist with the demands of a busy household with two young children, and support her with the physical demands of the children. The role is predominantly a sole charge role however the Mother is located in the house but has to rest therefore the nanny will be in a sole charge capacity most of the time but the Mother will accompany the nanny and child to activities where she can.
The family have a duty car for the nanny to use for trips out, playdates, excursions, attending activities etc. The nanny will require their own personal car for commuting to and from the property.
This role requires someone physically fit, able to meet the demands of young children, have experience with babies, instil manners, support developmental learning and education and be kind and nurturing to the children.
Salary £16-17/hour depending on experience.
Duties to include (but not limited to):
1. Nursery Duties: Keeping play areas and toys clean and organised. Any communal areas used by the children to be kept clean and tidy. Keeping children’s bedrooms tidy.
2. Laundry: any laundry related to the child including washing, ironing and folding/caring for their clothes. Keeping drawers/wardrobes orderly and organised. Changing bed sheets and making up beds with clean sheets. Take out clothes from washing machine, and put a new load on etc.
3. Cooking: supporting dietary needs and preparing nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for the children. Implementing and supporting parents with a feeding routine. Make and clean bottles, empty dishwasher
4. Changing nappies and supporting potty training when needed
5. Planning and implementing creative activities which promote developmental needs and support the children’s learning and education
6. Planning and organising trips out, playdates and excursions (with the employer’s consent)
7. Driving the children to their activities
8. Babysitting (if requested or needed by the family and with pre arrangement with the employer - this can be paid over time at an hourly rate if pre organised with the employer)
9. Travel - the nanny may be asked to travel with the family
The 22 month old will be going to pre-school in September, so drop offs and pick ups will also be required.
A real pro-active, muck in and reliable, organised attitude is essential for this position.
