About the Job
Our Lifeguards are enthusiastic, responsible, and hardworking individuals. A Lifeguards job can't be underestimated, and neither can the responsibility that comes with this vital lifeguarding role if you're calm under pressure, highly responsible and natural with people from all walks of life, this is your chance to develop as a Lifeguard. Lifeguarding can also be a stepping-stone towards a career in the leisure industry. To work as a Lifeguard, you’ll need to have a Lifeguard qualification, for example the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and pass our swim test.
As a casual lifeguard at Chiswick, you will be given a minimum number of hours that suit you, with the option to work extra hours if needed. Our site is open from 6am - 10pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 6pm on weekends, so shifts could include early mornings or late evenings.
Key Responsibilities include:
Help our visitors stay safe and healthy when using our brilliant wet facilities
Do everything you can to create a friendly, relaxed and professional environment
Make sure everyone who arrives at our centres enjoys a warm welcome and efficient service
Be attentive and alert at all times
Pay close attention to safety and respond to any incidents straight away
Qualified lifeguards carry out pool testing, and other health and safety checks, and supervise the pool in accordance with RLSS standards and site operation procedures
About you
As a Lifeguard you'll need to have strong swimming skills and hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society) or equivalent. Your passion for swimming and love of great customer service will shine through when supervising our customers in the pool, as well as supporting the team in keeping our centres clean and tidy. You'll naturally need to be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations.
