Salary: Up to GBP60,000.
Location: Oxford.
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Working as part of a design team delivering design from feasibility to completion and handover.
2. Liaising closely with other professionals, including clients, structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams.
3. Attending a range of project group and technical meetings.
4. Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements.
5. Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimize the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint.
6. Designing site-specific equipment as required.
7. Conducting technical reviews of contractor proposals and on-site inspections of the installation of building systems, maintenance, and operating procedures.
8. Utilizing specialist software such as CAD, BIM (Revit), Trimble (Amtech), Revit/Dialux, and other resources to design the systems required for the project.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. To be successful in this role, you will have an accredited Building Services degree or higher educational qualification and significant experience in a similar role. Ideally chartered or working towards chartered engineer status with a suitable institution.
2. You will need to be an excellent communicator who can articulate complex issues between clients and highly skilled project teams. A strong ambition to learn, high diligence, and exceptional organizational skills are essential.
3. This opportunity requires security clearances, so a UK passport and the ability to travel are essential.
4. A CIBSE-accredited mentor scheme is available for registration with the Engineering Council to obtain CEng status.
