Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for our rapidly growing client in the oil service industry. This is a full-time maternity cover contract and is due to last for an initial period of 12 months. The role will be based from our client's office in Westhill. The Opportunity The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports and analysis and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls. The role will primarily support all of the Western Hemisphere Region. Duties will include: Credit card reconciliations Cash book reconciliations Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Intercompany accounts Review and analysis of monthly balance sheet reconciliations Analysing financial information and posting month end journal entries Preparation/review of monthly payrolls Preparation/review of I/co invoices Project accounting ensure revenue and costs are accrued in line with project trackers and investigating any discrepancies Background and experience You will be a Part Qualified, Nearly Qualified or Qualified by Experience Accountant with relevant experience. Project Accounting experience is required for this role. Experience of working in a multi-currency, multi-company environment within an oil and gas or renewables business would be beneficial. Experience using Sage 200 is desired. Payroll experience would also be desirable. This role is looking to be filled urgently, candidates who are available at short notice are urged to apply.
