Based in central London and established in 2007 by directors Andy Heyne, Mark Tillett and Tom Steel, the practice now has over 180 people. About the role:
We are currently looking for a technically strong, creative and passionate Structural Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join our team. Working within a supportive and welcoming team, the role will require you to produce efficient, high-quality technical designs for both new build and refurbishment projects in a wide range of sectors. You will need to be enthusiastic, hard-working and looking to take on early responsibility.
What You’ll Do:
* Analyse configurations of structural components.
* Calculate pressures, stresses, and strains from use and environmental forces.
* Assess material strengths (timber, concrete, steel, brick) and adjust designs accordingly.
* Collaborate with architects and designers to align safety with aesthetic goals.
* Inspect at-risk structures and recommend improvements or reconstruction.
* Produce technical drawings, specifications, and computer models.
* Coordinate with construction contractors to ensure structural soundness.
* Apply expert knowledge of structural forces and behaviours.
* Use CAD and simulation software for design and analysis.
* Explore innovative and sustainable design solutions.
* Provide clear project updates and respond to client queries.
* Maintain detailed documentation of calculations and decisions.
* Engage in ongoing professional development.
* Uphold quality assurance standards in all deliverables.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Strong capabilities in detailed design and design optimization of structural elements.
✅ Proficient in using structural analysis software.
✅ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
✅ Strong problem solving skills to address structural challenges and propose innovative solutions.
✅ Ability to collaborate with architects, contractors and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans
